Hypnosis is a misunderstood practice, due to how it is often portrayed many are misinformed about the practice and how it works. Understanding the process and what hypnosis involves allows our clients to make informed decisions on their healing journey. Hypnosis is a form of therapy that induces an increased state of suggestibility and deep relaxation. If you want to find out more about hypnosis and the services that we have to offer contact our offices and speak with one of our therapists who can ease any concerns you may have.
How safe is Hypnosis?
The question of whether is hypnosis safe, is one we often hear from many of our clients who are interested in learning about the process but have some reservations based on how it is portrayed. When hypnosis is administered by a trained, and experienced professional it is completely safe with zero negative side effects. Despite the misconceptions, it is a voluntary state of relaxation that is entered into willingly and allows our therapists to merely guide our clients through the process. Individuals experience no pain and retain full control of their mind and body throughout and after the process.
How will I feel during the process of hypnotherapy?
The answer to the question of how hypnotherapy feels differs from person to person, however, a large majority of our clients report feeling a deepened sense of relaxation akin to the feeling of meditation as well as increased focus. You may feel or look as though you are on the verge of sleep, but you are awake throughout the process and your muscles and limbs may become limp and your breathing will slow as your mind eases into a sense of complete relaxation.
What can be treated with Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a proven and effective method of addressing a large variety of issues that you may be suffering from, including issues such as weight loss, quitting smoking or other addictions, stress management, anxiety, depression, and pain control. While it is a holistic approach to healing it can be used on its own or as a complimentary therapy to other forms of treatment you may be seeking. Whether you are using hypnosis as a therapy on its own or in conjunction with other forms of treatment it can be a great way to work on the mind and body connection and harness the power of your subconscious mind to promote a healthier and happier you.
Can anyone be hypnotized?
Hypnosis is a complex practice. It often taps into unexplored parts of the subconscious mind. To do this effectively, a hypnotist must be trained and experienced. The subject must also be willing to allow the process to take place. Hypnosis is, in very short summary, suggestion to a relaxed and open mind. If the person undergoing the hypnosis does not allow the practitioner to make these suggestions, or reserves parts of themselves, the hypnosis may not have its fully intended effect. That being said, at Brandt Creek Hypnotherapy, we are trained to ‘break the ice’. We employ various methods which allow us to improve upon the efficacy of the sessions we have with you. We also engage with you prior to our sessions and identify personalized ways in which we can improve the effect of the hypnosis sessions you undergo with us. So, while not everyone can be hypnotized, it is exceedingly rare for us to encounter an individual who does not benefit from hypnosis in some way.
Every client is given a free 30 minute consultation in which we talk about your concerns and will explain how your session will be laid out. Rest assured, we are committed to supporting you every step of the way to ensure that you achieve the results you desire!
